Learn How to Make Soap Bubbles

The right recipe for bubbles is a recipe for fun!

Things you need:
1 Gallon Milk Jug (or similar)

What you get:
Lots and LOTS of bubble blowing fun!

Recipe for Bubbles
(big batch)

Ingredients:

  • 11 Cups water
  • 4 C liquid dish soap
    (anti-bacterial seems to work best)
  • 1 Cup corn syrup

Directions:

  1. Into a rinsed 1 gallon milk jug, pour all ingredients.
  2. Shake milk jug to mix. A capped container will keep bubbles from climbing out.
  3. Pour mixed bubble concoction into an open bowl or other shallow container.
  4. Dip wand into bubble soap mixture and blow. Or, wave the wand through the air to create the bubble.

Things you need:
1 Mixing bowl or container (a plastic drink pitcher works well)

1 Dipping container

What you get:
Lots and LOTS of bubble blowing fun!

Recipe for Bubbles
(small batch)

For smaller birthday party groups, this recipe will be more than adequate. If you run out, it’s easy to make more!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup dishwashing liquid
  • 2 Cups water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar

Directions:

  1. Combine and mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl
  2. Pour bubble mixture into a pan into which various fun and sundry shapes can fit.
  3. A couple drops of food coloring may be added to color your bubbles.
  4. Dip bubble wands into mixture and blow or wave through the air to create beautiful bubbles and lots of smiling faces.

1 Small Mixing bowl or container

1 Dipping container

What you get:
Longer lasting bubbles!

Bouncing Bubble Solution

If you long for longer lasting bubbles, here is a recipe that will make your day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 2 tablespoons of Dawn dish soap
  • 1 tablespoon of glycerin

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients in mixing bowl or container.
  2. Allow solution to sit, undisturbed, for 24 hours.
  3. With a small bubble wand, blow a bubble the size of a baseball.
  4. Have fun watching your bubble to see how long it lasts and what it will bounce off of before popping.
